Stage 1:  Case study

  • demonstrate a systematic understanding of the theory and technical skills required to design and develop an e-Commerce system for a fictitious company selling movies and tv shows on blu ray (LO1)
  • Introduction to case study
  • What is dynamic development
  • Role of websites in e-Commerce
  • Why do you think this case needs a dynamic development for e-Commerce purpose and role of shopping cart in the case study?

Stage 2: Plan and design

  • between four to seven web pages for the given company
  • typical processes and contents of an e-commerce site
  • provide recommendations with regards to a
    • markup language,
    • database,
    • scripting (both client-side and server-side),
    • multimedia components, and
    • layout design
  • Show a plan of working of website in the form of chart
  • Show a flow chart of the processes
  • Markup languages/client-side scripting – explain role of each in your website development: – HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap etc
  • Database – explain the role of database MySQL
  • Server-side scripting- explain role of PHP
  • Layout design – Wireframe/sitemap/sketches/static pages for front end and ERD for back end.
