The submission is in the form of an individual written report consisting of multiple sections, a presentation, project plan, training plan and request letter. The report should be written in a concise, formal business style using single spacing and font style times new roman and size 11. You are required to use headings, paragraphs and subsections as appropriate, and all work must be supported with research and referenced using the Harvard referencing system. Please also provide a bibliography using the Harvard referencing system at the end of the report and PowerPoint presentation. Your report should be divided into multiple sections with the following submission formats:Section 1: The submission is in the form of a 7-10 minute Microsoft PowerPoint presentation to be given to your colleagues, a formal report, a formal request letter to your manager, a training schedule using MS Project and a training outline covering the training contents and timelines and associated activities. This presentation should be of 10 to 20 slides having a cover slide and conclusion slide. You will also maintain speaker notes. You are required to use headings, paragraphs and subsections as appropriate, and all work must be supported with research and referenced using the Harvard referencing system. Section 2: The submission is in the form of a report discussing problem-solving techniques which should be written in a concise, formal business style using single spacing and font style times new roman and size 11. Assignment Scenario and Guidance
Scenario SOS Children’s Village is a non-profit organization in Pakistan that works effortlessly towards the welfare of orphan children. It provides care, security, support, education and job training to children who are financially challenged. Ivy School of Computing at ICMS has signed an MOU with SOS Children’s Village to provide basic IT training to the children and help them reach their full potential despite the challenges faced socially and financially. In this regard, Ivy School of Computing has involved its students and tasked them to impart this IT training to a group of recipients having 15 recipients in each group. The training duration is 04 days and 07 hours each day. The training location is set to be ICMS Campus. Being a student of HND Computing, you are also taking part in this event where you will be responsible to design the training session and impart the session.
section 1 – Guidance
The Head of the Department of Ivy School of Computing has asked you to submit and present a formal plan and training collateral that will be used for the event 3 weeks before the actual training event. Your plan should be comprehensive and should include proper time management for training activities and contingencies; resource allocation and a formal training outline for the topics to be covered along with their timelines and associated activities. You are required to submit the following evidence for section 1: Research on the background of the target audience i.e. SOS children A list of topics to be covered and a training outline stating clearly the tools and techniques that are best suitable to be used in the training event for the target audience. You should provide a proper justification for your choice of tools and techniques for SOS children and why you find these best suitable for your target audience. Training collateral for your target audience may include but is not limited to a document stating the keywords and their meaning that will be used throughout the training event, showing that you can deliver a training event specifically for the SOS children.A formal request letter to your manager for the formation of a team including the team members’ details, responsibilities and brief project details. A presentation having the details about the Delivery Plan covering any contingencies and formal time management for each activity. This should show that you have used effective time management skills for the SOS children’s IT training. This presentation should be of 10 to 20 slides having a cover slide and conclusion slide. You will also maintain speaker notes. A professional project plan (schedule) using a formal Project Management tool i.e. MS Project, with the use of timelines. This will include contingencies and justification of the time allocated for the project.A training outline covering the training contents with allocated timelines and associated activities, which can evaluate the effectiveness and application of interpersonal skills which are needed for the design and delivery of the training event for SOS children. You should review the different interpersonal skills and include a section in your report that evaluates the use and effectiveness of all interpersonal skills used during the design and development of a training event and which set of interpersonal skills do you find best suitable for your target audience, for example, hard skills or soft skills etc. and a justification of why you find the chosen set of skills important for the children when using IT skills.
Section 2 – Guidance
You are required to research and develop your understanding of different problem-solving techniques and their importance in planning and running an event. You have experienced some issues and concerns while executing the event as per plan which may include running out of time and resources allotted to the training session. You should document each concern concerning its occurrence and how you will analyse it and come up with a solution using different problem-solving techniques that you have researched with an explanation of your chosen problem-solving technique. You should justify the solution methodologies used during your event and include a critique of the application of critical reasoning and your experiences of these methodologies.
section 3- GUIDANCE
Since you will be working in a Team, therefore, it is extremely important to understand the defined role of team dynamics within the team. You are required to explain the importance of teamwork and its dynamics, the problems that are expected to occur while working within a team. You should detail your team at the beginning of each activity of the event discussing the role and responsibility of each team member and how each role contributes to the effectiveness of the success /failure as a shared goal for the team. Following the event, your manager has asked for feedback. You should provide a critical evaluation of your performance in the event/project and your contribution to the team you have worked, about the scenario. You should elaborate and critically evaluate your efforts in delivering your role in the team.
Section 4- guidance
You have played an active role in the management of this event. Hence you are required to evaluate your role and personality in that role to identify your strengths and weaknesses that have either facilitated you in this event or challenged you while executing the training sessions. Keeping in mind your personal and career goals in future, you are required to discuss the importance of CPD, leading to the identification of your CPD needs and the actions that will help you to achieve these goals. You should provide an evaluation of yourself in the role that was assigned to you stating how you performed it and how you can improve it in future. After analysing your strengths and weaknesses, you should submit a Personal Development Plan outlining the identified personal and career goals and how they can be achieved outlining the responsibilities, objectives, skills and knowledge required to achieve them while considering the identified CPD needs. You should include an explanation on whether you would like to stick to the role assigned to you in the event or change it in future. Justify your decision using your development plan. As the training is carried out in groups and many other students from Ivy school of computing are also taking an active part, you are required to compare and contrast motivational theories and their impact on the performance improvement of your colleagues. You should compare all researched theories and present your findings to your colleagues. Moreover, you should include a section in your report on the usage of CPD within organisations and what evidence would be required to measure the effectiveness of CPD in helping employees/colleagues to achieve their goals while using the available resources efficiently.
