Role of complementary therapist has been addressed in this unit. Importance of this also highlighted along with management strategies. This unit mainly deals with usage of a wide range of complementary services in health and social care. Learners are able to develop understanding on principles of complementary therapist. Along with this the benefits of this also addressed. Apart from that, major health issues related to this are also considered.

LO1 Understand the principles behind complementary therapies and their current usage
Main intention of this unit is to present a clear idea on complementary therapist and current usage of them as well. The complementary therapies which addresses in this part are homeopathy, osteopathy, yoga, Alexander Technique and psychotherapy. The treatments which are used under this are signs and symptoms, dosage and materials. Only learning about this is not enough, the learners also need to address the advantages and disadvantages of this. The benefits which can be cleaned are enhancing health. The negative impacts which have been addressed are intrinsic harm. The accessing areas in this regards are physical access, financial access and access of cultural factors.
LO2 Understand the role of complementary therapies in relation to orthodox treatments
This part of the unit deals with role or impact of complementary treatment for an orthodox treatment. This is used for Musculo-skeletal treatment such as joints, bones and muscles. Apart from that, diversity and elementary process is also included under this treatment process. This has been also applied for Cardio-respiratory treatment which deals with pulmonary functioning and cardiovascular functioning. The Psychological effect which has been addressed in this is Attention- Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). To get a clear understanding on the treatment an effective comparison has been done among orthodox treatment and complementary therapy treatments.

The evidence of effective complementary therapy has been addressed to maintain a sustainable health or wellbeing. In order to complete that, the mode of source collection should be authentic enough. The sources which could be used in this are commercial sources, health professionals and systematic research approach. Amelioration and enhancement in the well being could be ascertained from this.
LO4 be able to carry out an evaluation of the systems for regulating the use of complementary therapies.
None of the e therapy could be applied without knowing the related legislations with this. The regulation systems which are used in this code of practice, self regulation, and representative umbrella organisations. Benefits which have been occurred from this are also required to be addressed. The learners need to know about the benefits such as risk minimization, professionalism and emerging trends related to this.
