Aim of Unit 24 Understanding the Learning Process
The process of learning is important in the context of domains like healthcare and social care. This section would deal with different facets of the same. Acquiring of knowledge and its retention in the given context would be a focus in this part. Different ways adopted by various people in learning would be covered. The steps of planning are important in the process of learning. They would be discussed here. Methods which lead to learning in a proper way would be discussed in the context of the social care and the domain of healthcare. This part would assist the people who are already working in the relevant field.

On successful completion of this unit a learner will:
- Understand different theories of learning
- Understand the impact of learning styles on learning by individuals
- Be able to suggest strategies for delivering and assessing learning in a health and social care workplace
- Understand how to support the individual learning needs of health and social care workers.
LO1 Understand different theories of learning
This section would describe the different theoretical factors in the field of learning. The dimensions covered would be like affective, psychomotor and cognitive. It would also touch upon various paradigms like the behaviorist and humanist among others. Various processes in which learning could be acquired like the doing based learning; teaching, mentoring, or feedback among others would also be discussed. It would help in getting the structure, ways and approaches in which the learning is attained.
LO2 Understand the impact of learning styles on learning by individuals
Ways in which a person learns affects his or her learning. This section would explore the ways in which the styles of learning would affect the learning itself. The styles of learning would involve ways like activist, pragmatist, and visual among others. Influence factors like culture, motivation, experience would also be covered in this section. Various ways in which a person can learn on his own like through responsibilities would also be touched in this section.
LO3 be able to suggest strategies for delivering and assessing learning in a health and social care workplace
The ways in which the learning process can be implemented depends on the strategies. This section would cover the importance of providing the strategy inputs for learning. The section would deal with various factors like team, systems of quality, resources which are available, organization among others. Different strategies of imparting learning like teaching which includes learning in group, demonstration based learning among others would be discussed. The ways in which the learning is delivered and the ways to acquire learning would also be touched in this section.
LO4 Understand how to support the individual learning needs of health and social care workers.
In the sectors of social care and healthcare, the people provided the learning need to be given assistance. This section would deal with such systems of support given from various perspectives like the numeracy, language, and literacy among others. The tools needed to diagnose the issues of learning like the ones based on paper among others would also be touched upon in this section. The needs of assistance for the needs of learning at individual level would also be covered.
